About Toni & Wimpy's

Toni Dimitrov had worked at Xerox for 14 years. In 2003, he watched many of his co-workers get laid off during cuts made by Xerox. Realizing that his tenure at Xerox may be limited, he pondered the idea of opening his own business. In September of 2003, he did just that. After some remodeling to the old Dunkin Donuts building in Gates, Wimpy’s Burger Basket’s doors opened.

Toni continued to work at Xerox, juggling his full time position with his new business for a full year and a half before taking the buy-out to focus on his restaurant. His decision proved to be a good one. Wimpy’s is in its third successful year thanks to the patronage of the loyal customers that come from all over the city of Rochester and the support of his family, wife and two children.
